Services

Telephones/Cable TV: A telephone with a hearing amplifier is conveniently located on each wing for the resident's and family's use. A resident or family member may wish to have a phone installed in their room for personal use. Cable TV is provided in the lounge areas within the Facility. Complimentary cable TV service is available in all resident rooms.

Newspapers and Magazines: To keep current with local and world events, each wing at Bethany receives the Sioux Falls daily newspaper. Bethany also subscribes to numerous magazines; some which include the large print Reader's Digest, Guideposts, Mechanics Illustrated, Redbook, Harper's Magazine, and Ladies Home Journal, in addition to others of interest.

Beauty Salon: Bethany has a professionally equipped beauty salon that is located in Serenity Gardens. It is operated by a licensed beautician. Beauty shop services are provided at a reasonable price.

Lounge Areas: Located on each wing at Bethany is a visiting area which is furnished with lounge chairs, color T.V., and small tables. One of the more popular places for relaxation is the sun porch in Rushmore Boulevard. Its three-sided expanse of windows gives a feeling of the outdoors and offers a panoramic view of Bethany's grounds. Bethany has a Conference Room available for celebration of special family occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, guest meals, etc.

Wander Guard System: Bethany has installed a Wander Guard monitoring system for the safety and security of residents at risk to wander. A Wander Guard bracelet will be provided to residents at risk and with a physician's order.

Mail: Mail service is provided on a daily basis. Bethany staff delivers mail to each resident and assists with opening and reading mail as needed or requested.

Resident Trust Account: Bethany provides a trust account for resident spending money. Quarterly reports are provided as requested by the resident or his or her responsible party. The reports include information regarding deposits, withdrawals, and the current balance for the quarter.

Newsletter - Bethany Brief: The Bethany Brief comes off the press quarterly. It is a means of keeping in touch with Bethany friends, family, and patrons. The newsletter reports information concerning resident happenings as well as significant events within the Home.
